Researchers at Imperial College have estimated that we can avoid dangerous climate change if we cut annual greenhouse gas emissions from 30 to 15 gigatonnes by 2050. This, they say, would cost $2 trillion per year - just 1% of global GDP in 2050. See the ICL CC plan
