It's election year - again! by David Flint.

It's election time again - as if you hadn't noticed. Throughout the media we see the three grey parties working to persuade us that they alone have the right answers. In fact they don't even have the right questions! They accept the cuts, the banks, NHS privatisation, growth in CO2 emissions and our whole out-of-control economic system.

The Green Party asks how we can avoid or reverse the social damage from the Coalition and how we can make the system responsive to the need of the 99% not the greed of the 1%. We have some answers too!

Let's start with buildings. Articles in this issue show that, despite our government, solar electricity is becoming cheaper and more important round the world; also that Enfield Council and local developers are falling short in solar PV and energy conservation.

And, leaving the building as it were, our own David Hughes challenges conventional thinking on road safety by criticising pedestrian crossings and traffic lights. And Douglas Coker insists that there is an alternative - and tells us what it is.

You can see more of our policies in Jenny's statement, below, and at london.greenparty.org.uk/.

So I look forward to seeing you on our stalls or delivering leaflets - starting on March 3rd.
