The need for localism

Peter Krakowiak, Green Party candidate for the London Assembly, writes:

The return to the UK of all the party leaders merely reflects the centralised approach to decision making in the UK. This is the outcome of over 30 years of centralisation and shows complete contempt for the ability of local and regional councillors to work with their counterparts in the community to address local concerns. The Green Party is firmly committed to localism and recognises the validity and effectiveness of local leadership.
